As a weaver, I'm most jealous of knitters when they take out the thread and needle everywhere and knit.
Most of the weaving looms are inconvenient to carry.
"I want to weave outside the studio! on my holiday!"
I designed a weaving board with 'my' desires.
It's so packable to take it anywhere and weave. I also use it every day in my studio.
I recommend using it with a bookstand; your shoulders and neck will be less painful.
Why don't you make the nail or the notched loom?
'Easy to carry' was my first goal.
Nailed or notched looms are not packable at all. So I rule them out.
I also worried that the warp ends will stay still or not.
However, it was solved when I winded the thread tightly, and the rod helped to get tighter.
If you tape on the back of the board, the warp ends will secure more.
The warp ends move at the beginning of the weaving, but it won't move when you weave more than 3cm tall.
I like the board because I can space the warp ends as I want.
'Use the tool at the maximum' was my second goal.
Most weaving looms, except for the pin room, hold the warp ends only on the front.
You can't weave about 7cm each on the top and bottom for finishing.
If it's 24cm long, you can weave only 10cm.
With a weaving board, you wind the warp ends around the front and back.
You can finish with the wrapped thread on the back. You can use weave at the maximum.
Why do you make a board, not a frame?
If you finish the warping around the frame, the thread on the back overlaps with the front. It makes your eyes tired.
The weaving board hides the back and makes your weaving easy.
I'm a weaver, but I never welcome the yarn dust. The yarn dust stays between the board and the fabric.
This is why I use the board every day.
